Chislet Mill
The Grade II listed Chislet windmill was destroyed by fire during 2005. The
proposals consider rebuilding the windmill using traditional details and
materials linked to a small single storey dwelling located to the North of the
Mill. The Mill was regarded as a key landmark building in the area and was
allegedly used by Barns Wallis during the Second World War to monitor bouncing
bomb tests in the estuary.
